JSU tells NEHU to start Jowai campus work

JOWAI: The Jaintia Students’ Union (JSU) has demanded that NEHU should start construction of the NEHU Jowai Campus failing which the students’ body threatened to take up the matter with the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development.
The JSU informed that based on RTI reports, they had fund that the land for construction of the Jowai Campus had been donated by the Dorbar Shnong, Wahiajer West. The survey and boundary pillars for the site were completed at an expenditure of Rs. 7, 12,694.
As per the RTI, the UGC through the 12th Plan released Rs. 6 crore for the purpose which includes opening of academic departments and creation of infrastructure.
