Opposition to road project in West Khasi Hills

SHILLONG: The Langrin Youth Welfare Association (LWYA) has yet again asked the KHADC to avoid issuing NOC for the Nongstoin-Wahkaji-Mawthabah road project in West Khasi Hills.
The organization alleged that the intention of the road project is not to develop the area but to facilitate uranium mining.The organization also criticized Lok Sabha member from Shillong, Vincent H. Pala, for his alleged pro-uranium stand.
