SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Rabha Jatio Sewa Sangha (MRJSS) demanded a proper inquiry into the alleged murder of 18-year-old year Prokit Rabha, an employee of Hotel Pegasus Crown.
The MRJSS insisted that police should take note of the late reporting of the crime by the hotel authorities.
After the incident occurred on July 12, it was based on the formal complaint lodged by the relatives of the victim, that police arrested one Vicky Chettri, (47), another staff of Hotel Pegasus Crown in this connection.
Police had said that both the staff  had a quarrel and the accused threw the victim from the building.
However, in a statement issued here on Friday, MRJSS condemned the laxity on the part of the administration of Hotel Pegasus Crown on reporting the deadly assault on Rabha in his work place.
The victim had been working in the hotel to fend for his family since the last seven years.
“The late reporting of the incident to the police after the death of the victim only shows the intent of the hotel administration to hush up the matter,” the Rabha body alleged.
MRJSS has called upon the police and authorities concerned to do the needful to expose any foul play in the incident before brushing it off as mere quarrel between the two employees.
