2 coal-laden trucks seized, drivers held

SHILLONG: Two coal-laden trucks were seized in separate incidents in the last two days. In Shillong, police seized a truck carrying illegal coal early on Tuesday morning. The driver, Bormi Shadap, was arrested for violating the National Green Tribunal order. In another incident on Sunday, police seized a truck from Lumshnong in East Jaintia Hills. The driver, Alakesh Medhi, and the helper were arrested.
Meanwhile, West Jaintia Hills Police detected a truck coal-laden truck headed to Assam . The Police arrested the driver Arki Sungoh of Nangbah village and his helper Bawanmi Dkhar of Niriang village. Sungoh is the owner of the truck.
