Cleaning drive
A cleaning drive will be held at Rilbong on October 2 as a follow up of Rilbong Sports and Cultural Club’s recently held Marathon for a cleaner Shillong.
Dry Day
In exercise of the power conferred by Section 52 (1) of ME Act (Assam Excise Act & Rules as adapted by Meghalaya), the Deputy Commissioner of Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh in a press release issue informed to all IMFL retail shops, bars, bonded warehouses, bottling units, country made spirit shops, out still, breweries and canteens located in the entire Ri Bhoi District to remain closed on October 2 and October 11 on account of Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra respectively.

Victims remembered

Medical examination
The candidates who qualified in the Physical Efficiency Test held on September 19-30 at Tura and Shillong for the post of Non-Combatant Employees (NCE) under Civil Defence & Home Guards Department are directed to report to the Office of the District Home Guards Commandant, Araimile, Tura, West Garo Hills on October 7 at 11 AM and to the Civil Defence & Home Guards Complex, Mawdiangdiang, Shillong on October 14 at 11 AM for the medical examination.
Electoral roll
The Electoral Roll notifications have been prepared for the electors of the 28-Sohra Constituency, and the qualifying date for the preparation of electoral rolls is January 1, 2017.  Any claim for the inclusion of a name in the roll or any objection to the inclusion of a name or any objection to particulars in any entry, should be lodge on or before October 31.
Weighment certificate
The Government of Meghalaya has notified the weighbridge of 13th Mile, Tamulkushigoan, Byrnihat, Ri Bhoi District to issue weighment certificates to all goods laden vehicles that pass through the weighbridge with immediate effect and until further orders.
