SHILLONG: Durga Puja revellers have one more reason to cheer as Power Minster Sniawbhalang Dhar has assured that celebrations will not be affected due to load-shedding.
There will be no power cuts from October 7 to October 13.
The decision was made after the Minister met members of the Central Puja Committee.
Though it is not known how the situation will be managed, sources said the government wanted to ensure that there is no disruption to the religious festival.
During the meeting, CPC demanded that load-shedding be totally withdrawn since the final exam of the students is approaching.
“We also demanded that there should be no load-shedding during festivals,” CPC general secretary JL Das said.
The Minister said the government will examine and review the situation.
