Pala lauds Nongkrem for its cleanliness initiative

SHILLONG: Shillong MP Vincent H Pala on Wednesday lauded Nongkrem village for its collective effort in maintaining cleanliness in the area. Addressing the gathering after inaugurating a permanent stage in the village Pala said that Nongkrem, which had received the Clean and Green Award in 2014, can be an example for other villages and localities. He attributed the success to the continuous efforts of the residents of the village. Pala was also appreciative of the Taxi Association and NGOs of the village contributing towards the cause of cleanliness. The permanent stage at Nongkrem, a village where the popular traditional dance festival is held annually, was constructed under the MPLAD scheme.
