SHILLONG: The Coordination Committee on International Border (CCIB) has postponed its planned protest march in the city that was scheduled for Friday.
CCIB secretary Kmen Myrchiang said the rally has been postponed since the East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner did not issue permission in view of Kali Puja and Diwali celebrations in the city. He also said a new date for the protest march would be announced soon.
Meanwhile, East Khasi Hills DC P.S Dkhar said neither he nor the district SP have received any application from the CCIB for the proposed rally.
