Nongkrem Dance, the annual thanksgiving festival of Hima Khyrim (Khyrim Syiemship) will be celebrated from December 7-8. This was informed by the Syiem of Hima Khyrim, Smit.
Wine festival
The 14th Shillong Wine Festival will be held on November 12 from 12 pm onwards on the lawns of the State Central Library.
Workshop
A three-day training programme on ‘Basics of Plant Identification and Nomenclature’ was inaugurated at office of the Botanical Survey of India, Shillong on November 7. Participants from Meghalaya, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur and Nagaland are taking part in the workshop.

Blood donation
The NSS and NCC Unit of Thomas Jones Synod College in Jowai jointly organised a blood donation camp on Monday. The ‘Blood connects us all’ camp, which was in collaboration with the Blood Bank, Jowai CH, was held on the college campus.
NEHU programme
NEHU Shillong will host the 10th Convention for the Promotion of Library Automation and Networking in North Eastern Region (Planner 2016) from November 9 to 11 on the theme ‘Disruptive Innovations for Libraries: Adopt, Adapt and Evolve’ under the aegis of INFLIBNET Centre, Gandhinagar. Around 350 participants from NE will present papers and speak at the convention.
Musical night
The Khasi Jaintia Presbyterian Girls’ Higher Secondary School Past Pupils’ Association as part of the fund raising drive for the celebration of its 125th year of the school will hold a dine cum musical night on December 3 from 5 pm to 8 m at the school hall.
