Complaint against hawker

SHILLONG: The Shillong Municipal Board on Monday filed an FIR against a hawker for displaying his goods for sale on a city footpath. Chief Executive Officer, Shillong Municipal Board, lodged a complaint that on Monday, in pursuance of the High Court of Meghalaya order, the board conducted an eviction drive at Police Bazar and adjoining areas. During the eviction drive one Prem Shah allegedly displayed his goods for sale opposite M/S Ajmera Marbles, Motphran ignoring repeated requests by the SMB officials to vacate the spot. Meanwhile, TUR’s Angela Rangad lodged a complaint that on November 15, unidentified persons seized goods worth Rs. 50,000 from hawkers in Police Bazar during the eviction drive.
