Threat by cement body
Mesainma Laloo, Manager of 7th Mile Weighbridge West Jaintia Hills lodged a complaint that members of Jaintia Hills Cement Manufacturers’ Association, Myndihati came to the Weighbridge on several occasions and forced the staff to issue underweight slips to their cement and clinker laden vehicles. When the staff refused, they threatened to take action against the operators of the Weighbridge.
Extortion calls
Eleonora Wahlang lodged a complaint that on November 24 around 8.30 am, one Priyana Nongkhlaw received calls in her mobile phone, wherein the caller demanded Rs. 30 lakhs from her and threatened with dire consequences.
Body found
On November 27 around 6.30 am, the dead body of one Baren Rabha (43) was found hanging from a tree at Dangorbita village in North Garo Hills. The deceased was reported missing from his residence at Sualmari village (NGH), since November 25, 2016.
Police on Tuesday recovered the body of Bodlang Mawkhiew (34), from a stream at Langkyrdem in East Khasi Hills. Necessary formalities were observed and the cadaver sent to CH Shillong for postmortem. Police said that probe is on into the matter.
Minor girl missing
One minor girl (14 yrs) was reported missing from her residence at Mawnianglah, 7th Mile, Upper Shillong, since November 27. Matter is under enquiry.
Theft
D.L. Wankhar, Director of Economics & Statistics, Meghalaya, Shillong, lodged a complaint that between November 26 – 28, unknown miscreants stole three computer monitors and one CPU from the Office.
Assault
Bud Ram Mato lodged a complaint that on November 27, two unidentified persons (driver and occupant) of one Maruti car (ML-11-1346) attempted to attack him with a ‘dao’ at Byndihati petrol pump (EJH).
On November 27 at around 7.30 pm, one Edwin Pajuh assaulted one Michael Kharsati (30 yrs) at Sohlait Thymmai village under Nongpoh PS (RB). As a result, victim sustained injuries and was hospitalised while the accused is absconding.
Missing person traced
With regard to the missing report of Lal Bahadur Thapa (72 yrs), the missing person was traced from Jorhat, Assam by his relatives on November 28.
Fake documents
Eujinia Khyriem of Sunny Dale HS School, Nongshiliang Nongthymmai, Shillong lodged a complaint that one student of Class-XI (Arts) submitted fake documents while applying for admission in the school.
Cyber crime
Anupam Datta of Windsor Hall, Upland Road, Laitumkhrah, lodged a complaint that someone sent e-mails and posted filthy messages on his Facebook, and also threatened to implicate him in false cases.
