JNV Mukhla celebrates Silver Jubilee

JOWAI: Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Mukhla on Thursday celebrated its silver jubilee.
West Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of JNV, Arunkumar Kembhavi was the chief guest on the occasion. District Superintendent of Police R. Muthu and JHADC Deputy CEM Andrew Shullai among others were also present in the programme.
Welcoming the chief guest and the dignitaries, JNV Principal, Ravindra Kumar Dixit highlighted the activities and achievements of the school.
JNV Mukhla is a co-educational institution at Mukhla village in Thadlaskein Block of WJH was established in 1991 with an aim to provide quality education to gifted children from rural families. The school is affiliated to the CBSE.
The school functioned from a temporary campus located at Khliehtyshi and moved to its permanent and present campus at Mukhla on April 1, 2005.The School accommodates over 500 students of class VI to XII and has hostel facility within its campus. Kembhavi congratulated the School management, teachers and students for achieving the milestone. Urging students to inculcate the reading habit Kembhavi announced that at the end of the academic year, prize will be given to a student who has read the maximum number of books.
