Simsang Festival
The East Garo Hills District Administration in collaboration with Arts & Culture and Tourism departments will organize the Simsang Festival at Rongrenggre Govt. Higher Secondary School, Williamnagar and Tasek Lake, Songsak from December 14 to 16. The highlights of the festival include Simsang Carnival, singing and dancing competitions, flower and fashion shows, beauty contest, cross-country cycle race, marathon, indigenous games etc.
Local holiday
The Under Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, General Administration (A) Department has informed that all State Government Offices and Revenue and Magisterial Courts and educational institutions in East Khasi Hills will remain closed on December 8 on account of “Nongkrem Dance.”
CPC function
Accounts and Audit Estate Motinagar Durga Puja Committee received six prizes in the CPC Valedictory function held on December 4 at Bangiya Sahitya Parishad Jail Road.
Cleaning drive
The Joint Director of Health Services (SS), Civil Hospital, Shillong has informed that all OPDs will remain closed on December 9 on account of a cleaning drive to be held in the hospital on that day. Emergency services will function as usual.
Wine festival
Wine festival will be held on December 10 from 12 noon at the lawns of the State Central Library.
Soil Health Day
World Soil Health Day was observed in the office of the District Agriculture Officer, South West Khasi Hills, Mawkyrwat on Monday on the theme,”Soil & Pulses Symbolizes Life”. During the programme, Soil Health Cards were distributed to farmers.
