Aadhaar in entire State on the cards

SHILLONG: The Government is planning to implement Aadhaar in the entire state as various government services are linked to it.Speaking to reporters on Friday, Chief Secretary K.S Kropha said the process of implementation of Aadhaar in the State was low due to various constraints.”People are free to get enrolled as large number of schemes and scholarships are linked to it. There is relaxation by the Centre till this year for Meghalaya, but eventually Aadhaar enrolment will be necessary and efforts are on to complete the enrolment process,” the chief secretary said.He said in Khasi Hills, the progress achieved was 15 percent and the delay is due to the appointment of new service providers.
