SHILLONG:  Urban Affairs Minister Ronnie Lyngdoh has assured action against defaulters who do not use coloured bins for the segregation of waste at the household level.
In reply to a call attention motion moved by Jemino Mawthoh (UDP) in Assembly on Thursday, Lyngdoh said that whenever cases of misuse of bins are reported, the matter is referred to the local task force for necessary action.
“We are committed to bring about segregation of waste at the household level in Shillong,” he said.
He also called for change of behaviour on the part of the city residents to maintain cleanliness.
