SHILLONG: KHADC chief executive member P.N Syiem has flayed the double standard of UDP MDC H.S Shylla.
In his reaction to Shylla’s criticism of the four UDP MDCs who pledged support to the Executive Committee in violation to the party’s direction, Syiem said on Friday that Shylla also went against the party’s direction and moved a no-confidence motion against him, which indicates the double standard of Shylla and UDP.
Further reacting to the demand of Shylla to file FIR against him, Syiem said the issue does not arise as Rs 35-lakh loan given to the Khasi Heritage Conservation Forum has already been refunded.
Syiem said an inquiry will be ordered against Shylla who as CEM had paid Rs 80 lakh from the Council on March 21, 2006, to purchase Park View building at Laitumkhrah from the North Eastern India Trust and Education Development whose secretary was C.M Jha.
Syiem also said Shylla as CEM had opened a joint account for the construction of Wahkaji-Mawthabah road with UCIL fund, which should have been reflected in the Budget and the Council’s account.
He added that in both these cases, the district fund rule was not followed.
