SHILLONG: Drug abuse, human trafficking and alcoholism were among the issues discussed at an awareness programme organised by the Dorbar Shnong of Wahingdoh on Saturday.
East Khasi Hills SP DNR Marak made power point presentations on various social issues, including trafficking and alcoholism, at the meeting that was aimed at improving police-public relationship.
During an interactive session, the police asked the public not to take law in their hands.
The headman assured the SP that the Dorbar would extend all assistance to the police department and work hand in hand for a better society.
It also felt that more such awareness programmes are needed.
Others who spoke on the occasion were the Rangbah Shnong, Assistant Rangbah Shnong of Wahingdoh and Officer in charge of Sadar Police Station.
