208 people arrested for NGT load limit violation

SHILLONG: Ri Bhoi police has arrested 208 people following the recent seizure of 255 coal-laden trucks on National Highway 6 for violation of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) order on load limit.
Ri Bhoi Superintendent of Police Ramesh Singh on Tuesday informed that excess coal from the seized trucks was being offloaded.
Ri Bhoi police had filed as many as 28 FIRs in this regard.
