Dicka wins I-League’sBest Striker Award

SHILLONG: Shillong La-jong FC is happy to an-nounce that the Club’s for-eign striker from CameroonAser Dipanda Dicka hasbeen adjudged as the beststriker of the Hero I-Leagueseason. Dicka is also theLeague’s highest goal scor-er with 11 goals from 17matches.In a statement that wasreleased by AIFF Media onTuesday said, “There wasvery little competition forthe Best Striker award asAser Pierrick Dipanda Dickagrabs the award, thanks tohis tally of 11 goals in 17matches.” The League’s best strik-er scored his debut goal forLajong in the first homegame of the season againstMinerva Punjab FC on Jan-uary 21 in the 42nd minutewhich was also Lajong’sfirst win of the season.Thereafter, he went on toscore in the second, third,fourth and fifth home gamethat is against Mumbai FCon January 28 (2 goals, 28’and 43’), Chennai City FCon January 31 (2 goals, 20’,65’), Churchill Brotherson February 5 (1 goal, 51’)and DSK Shivajianson February 11 (1 goal, 33’).
In the I-League season,Shillong Lajong had a goodouting in the away matchesas well and Aser DipandaDicka made his presence feltin these games by convert-ing his chances into goalswhich saw his goal tally soarhigher. He scored his 8th I-League goal against Chen-nai City FC in Chennai andscored another goal in La-jong’s next game at home on4th March against East Ben-gal in the 64thminute. Dicka has been in an ex-ceptional form this seasonand added his number 10 I-League goal when the Redstook on Mohun Bagan inShillong on 12th April andfinally netted his 11th goal ofthe season in the North EastDerby versus Aizawl FC on30th April.
