‘Private schools to be regulated in Manipur’

Imphal:  Manipur Education Minister Th. Radheshyam said an educational policy to regulate private schools will be framed also appreciated the contributions of the private schools in imparting education in the state.
However, he pointed out that for better functioning of every educational institution in Manipur, there is need for having a private schools’ policy.
The education minister was speaking as chief guest at the K M Blooming Higher Secondary School annual toppers felicitation function of High School Leaving Certificate Examination & Higher Secondary Examination 2017, Khangabok.
Certain norms have been laid down by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur under the Recognition Rules – Condition for Recognition of High School.
Running a school in a very limited small space, packing all the students in one small courtyard or in a very congested room is unacceptable.
Thus, an educational policy is being drafted to curb such ugly practices as it threatens the real essence of education he added. (UNI)
