SHILLONG: There are errors still in the marks cards of Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) result of first batch (2013) declared on June 22 this year.
This is for the third time that the result is declared as the result of the same examinations was published by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) in its website after rectification of the anomalies occurred in the first and second results declared in 2016.
Aristotle C. Rymbai, the president of Meghalaya SSA Schools Association, Central Body said in a statement on Sunday that in the mark card, the name of the candidate, that of father and mother is the same.
While internal assessment paper marks were given to the candidates, no marks were given for theory paper.
Rymbai said that from the same study centre, marks of Workshop Based Activities (WBA) and Practice Teaching of some trainees are given whereas marks of some trainees still remain the same as published earlier.
“These are only a few examples of anomalies occurred in the D.El.Ed result, Rymbai said.
He said that curiously the Director of DERT T.G. Momin during the meeting with delegation of Meghalaya SSA Schools Association on June 22 informed till date there was no instruction given by NIOS regarding extension of validity period for first batch and the date of next examination and exam fees either verbally nor in writing
However, in the notice board of NIOS, it was mentioned to pay Rs 300 per each subject by demand draft to the Regional Office of NIOS in Guwahati from July 1 to 31 being the exams fees for October-November, 2017 for both first and second batches.
When inquired, the staff of DERT said that D. Pyrbot Nodal Officer of NIOS in Meghalaya was on leave.
The staff of NIOS had already left and the office was found locked, Rymbai added.
According to MSSASA president, if the NIOS had asked to pay the exam fees for both first and second batches, then why the NIOS did not issue the original mark sheets and certificates.
“The mistakes committed by NIOS one after another shows its failure to run the training programme (D.El.Ed) in Meghalaya”, Rymbai added
