SHILLONG: The Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) will meet the Chief Minister Mukul Sangma on the burning issue over setting up of railway projects in the state. The party strongly resents the establishment of railway lines sans any proper mechanism to prevent large scale influx into the state.

Taking a serious note on the violence that ensued in the state due to setting up the railway lines, the HSPDP in a statement issued here, said the state government should call for a dialogue to break the deadlock with the KSU members.

“The party feels that the government should have called the NGOs to a dialogue because it is only through discussion that this issue can be resolved,” the statement said.

At the same time, the party has appealed to the Chief Minister that the state government should immediately stop arresting the KSU members thereby stop adding fuel to the fire.
