Awareness programme on child rights and protection held

TURA: An Awareness programme on child protection, child rights, vulnerable children, child sexual abuse and other related children’s issues was organised by the Childline Tura, Bakdil at Allagipokgre Don Bosco School in West Garo Hills recently.

During the programme, Childline officials spoke on the aims and objectives of Childline and urged the children to make use of the toll free helpline number 1098 whenever necessary.

Issues relating to crimes against children like child sexual abuse and child trafficking were highlighted during the programme.

As many as 80 participants comprising of students, teachers and other school staff participated in the programme.
