SHILLONG: The MPCC president, DD Lapang, who was camping in Delhi to hold discussions with AICC leaders on poll-related issues from September 4, left the national capital on Friday.
A party source, however, said on Friday that Lapang’s visit to Delhi was for medical treatment but added that he may have met the central party leaders.
Chief Minister Mukul Sangma also left for Delhi on Friday and it is yet to be known whether he would meet the party leaders.
When contacted, Lapang did not return the calls even after several attempts.
The party is divided in the run-up to the polls as many block Congress committees were dissolved by MPCC without holding consultations with senior party functionaries.
Many legislators are set to leave the party in protest against style and functioning of the state Congress leadership.
