Accused in call center scam gets bail

SHILLONG: One of the accused in the call center scam, identified as Rijo Joseph, was granted bail by the city court here on Friday.
The lawyer of Rijo, Nitin Khera said on Saturday that the city court granted bail to him since he cooperated with the probe team.
According to the lawyer, the bail was granted with strict conditions so that investigation can be completed with further cooperation.
Police had said that Rijo was part of a team running fake Internal Revenue Service (IRS) racket in city duping American citizens by way of call centers. 
Police had formed Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the matter and three cases under Laitumkhrah police station were registered under different provisions of law.
As many as 13 persons were arrested in connection with the crime.
