Mid-day meal
The Sub-Divisional School Education Officer, Tura Sadar informed that mid-day meal rice has been released from October 30 as 2nd quarter for the months of July, August and September for 62 days at the rate of 126.1604 gms per child per day for students of lower primary school and 147.954 gms for students of upper primary school. Authorised SMC secretaries have been asked to find the location of their respective wholesalers from the office of the SDSEO and to collect the school wise allotted quota from concerned Block Mission Coordinators. 

Birth anniv
The 549th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Devji is being celebrated by the city Gurudwara (Guru Nanak Darbar) Bara Bazaar on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The Sikh Sangat conducted a religious procession called Nagar Kirtan on Friday.
Sri Sarada Sangha, Shillong will observe the 150th birth anniversary of Sister Nivedita at Vivekananda Cultural Centre at 3:30 pm on Saturday.

Foundation Day
Synjuk ki Seng Samla Shnong will celebrate its foundation day on November 7, at Khasi National Dorbar Hall at 10 am. A workshop will also be held.

Medical camp
Hynniewtrep National People Federation will organise a free medical camp and cancer awareness programme at Rilbong Sanatan Hindu Sabha at1 pm on Saturday.
