NCP members
The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has formed the West Garo Hills District Committee with Hennyson K Sangma as the president, Ajoy Marak as the Secretary and other executive members. The Nationalist Mahila Congress also elected Abrilla B. Marak as the president, Elbina Ch. Marak as the vice-president, Jeneritha M. Sangma as the secretary. The Nationalist Youth Congress elected Adam Keero K. Marak as the president, Eliut T. Sangma as the general secretary and other executive members.
Prohibition order
The Sub Divisional Magistrate, Sohra Civil Sub Division has promulgated an order under Section 144 CrPC restricting the movement of heavy loaded vehicles and trucks carrying load more than 9 tons on Bholaganj-Nongjri Road and Ichamati-Bholaganj Road. The order comes into force with immediate effect up to a period of two months or until further orders. Violation of the order will attract penalty under 188 IPC.
Coaching classes
The coaching classes which started in July 25 for clerical grade examinations in state and central governments, banks and insurance sector conducted by the East Garo Hills District Administration under the Chief Minister’s Career Guidance Scheme in Dobetkolgre concluded on November 8.
Conference
The Department of Pathology NEIGRIHMS will conduct a three day annual conference of Indian academy of cytologists CYTOCON 2017 from November 11-13.The inauguration of the conference will be held at 3.30 pm on Friday at the NEIGRIHMS auditorium. Roshan Warjri, Minister of Health and Family welfare will attend as the chief guest.

Unveiling ceremony
The Durbar Shnong of Sokha Mission Village will have a ceremonial unveiling of the bust of (L) Akbar Khonglah, the founder of Sokha Govt. Higher Secondary School, on Friday. The function will be held in the Community Hall Sokha Mission from 11:00 am. The local MLA and the DC West Jaintia Hills will be among the dignitaries attending the function.
Special drive
The DC (Election) of West Jaintia Hills have informed that a special house to house drive by the booth level officer will commence from November 15-30. Officers will visit houses to distribute Form 6, 7, and 8 to those eligible for enrolment but were left out during earlier revision. They will also collect details of citizens going to be eligible on 01.01.2019. Updated details of permanently shifted electors and for dead electors and those whose entries are incorrect in draft roll will also be noted.
