NONGPOH: BJP ticket aspirant, Patbun Syngkli has pledged to make Nongpoh a model constituency of Meghalaya if elected to power in the 2018 Assembly elections.
Syngkli made the commitment during a meeting of party workers here on Thursday. The meeting was attended by BJP district president, BB Makdoh, president and secretary of primary units, mahila members and youth leaders of the party.
He also urged party workers to work harder in order to ensure success for BJP in the polls in Nongpoh constituency.
“We should not trust and fall for politicians who use money only during elections. Instead, we need to reject them and give them a befitting reply in the upcoming elections,” Syngkli said.
He further said efforts should be made for the uplift of the poorer sections of the society in the constituency.
BJP district president, BB Makdoh in his speech underlined the need to get rid of the Congress from Ri Bhoi district and that the party would go all out to ensure there was no friendly match in the upcoming elections.
The meeting also decided to bring about a change in Nongpoh by implementing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Sab Ka Saath Sabka Vikas, to eradicate middlemen and agents in order to bring about accountability and transparency in implementing various development works besides recommending the name of Syngkli as the party’s candidate from Nongpoh.
