PM remembers Mawphlang cuppa
The proud seller on Saturday fondly remembered the brew he was offered at Mawphlang last year.
Speaking at the BJP Rally, Narendra Modi, who sold tea during his days of struggle, said he still remembers the taste of the tea which was offered to him last year. Modi also recalled how a youth had patted him on his back after he played the drums at Mawphlang.
The tea stall in Guajarat’s Vadnagar where Modi once sold tea is all set to become a tourist spot with the Centre deciding to give it a face-lift.

Triple attire
The attire of the Prime Minister, who addressed the party rally at Polo Grounds, represented the three major tribes of Meghalaya.
While the Prime Minister wore a Garo headgear, he was presented with a Khasi-Jaintia paila, a shawl and jacket. Modi was seen tightening the loin cloth which was also presented to him.
During his visits to the region, the Prime Minister makes it a point to associate himself with the culture and traditions.
