KSU Umiam circle chief gets bail

NONGPOH: Members and leaders of the Khasi Students’ Union leader (KSU) welcomed Stevenson Kharkrang who was released on bail on Tuesday.
Kharkrang, who is the president of KSU Umiam Circle, was arrested a week ago by Ri Bhoi police in connection with the arson case at the railway project site Ronghona and Shangbangla in May. The District Court of Nongpoh granted him bail.
As soon as he was released from the district jail at Mawsyntai, Kharkrang was welcomed by Lambokstarwell Marngar, president of the central body, Ferdynald Kharkamni, president of North Khasi Hills unit, family and union members.
