NONGSTOIN: More than 13 coal-laden trucks with fake challans were detected at Riangdo in West Khasi Hills on Thursday, police said on Friday.
K Swer, inspector in charge of the Directorate of Mineral Resources in (DMR) Mawshynrut, lodged a complaint that on Thursday, more than 13 trucks passed through the check gate at Zero point in Mawshynrut with fake challans issued in the name of three genuine coal dealers.
However, the check gate authorities could not detect the forgery.
But authorities at the DMR check gate in Mawshynrut detained the trucks. Mawshynrut police seized the challan and the trucks.
Last year, DMR detected 10 fake challans.
