NONGPOH: A village in Jirang constituency in Ri Bhoi is without power supply for more than a year after a transformer developed technical glitch.
Alfred Lyngdoh, the president of Hynniewtrep National Youth Front Jirang circle, who visited Pyngker ‘C’ village, said MeECL has made no efforts to restore power and paid no heed to the villagers’ plight.
Lyngdoh said students who are preparing for various examinations are the worst affected, said Lyngdoh.
He has urged MeECL to immediately repair or replace the transformer.
