Conrad Sangma allots portfolios among ministers

SHILLONG:  Prestone Tynsong who was considered a strong contender for the Chief Minister post of Meghalaya has been given the charge of PWD (Roads), Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, Housing, Parliamentary Affairs and Labour Department.

Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma would look after the finance, personnel, political, cabinet affairs, planning and any other department not allotted to other Ministers.

The brother of the Chief Minister, James Sangma will look after Home (police, jail, passport), Power, Food Civil Supply and Consumer Affairs, District Council Affairs and Law.

Al Hek is the lone BJP MLA to be included in the cabinet with charge of Health and Family Welfare, Information and Public Relations and Arts and Culture.

Sniawbhalang Dhar has been given the important departments of Transport, Commerce and Industry, C&RD and Soil and Water Conservation.

Comingone Ymbon who was the Power Minister in the previous Minister has now been allotted the PWD (Buidings), GAD and fisheries.

UDP MLA, Metbah Lyngdoh who is a first-time Minister has been allotted departments of Tourism, Water Resources, Excise and Home Guards and Civil Defence.

Lahkem Rymbui will look after Forest and Environment, Education and Border Area Development besides the youngest Minister, Kyrmen Shylla   has been given the responsibility to look after the Revenue and Disaster Management, Social Welfare and Printing and Stationary.

Banteidor Lyngdoh has been put in charge of Agriculture, Horticulture, Sports and Youth Affairs, Sericulture and weaving

The giant killer from PDF, Hamlet Dohling, who defeated the heavyweight like Ronnie Lyngdoh, has been given the plum portfolio of Urban Affairs including Municipal Administration besides Information Technology.

Samlin Malngiang has also been made minister of PHE, SAD and Legal metrology.
