SHILLONG: The Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) expressed disappointment over the stand of Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on the issue of Inner Line Permit (ILP) where he said that introduction of ILP could not solve influx menace.

In a statement issued here, vice president of KHNAM, Thomas Passah said that the Chief Minister should call a meeting of all political parties to discuss on the ILP imbroglio.

He recalled that the KHNAM, UDP, HSPDP, NPP on September 23, 2013 met to discuss on the issue of ILP in which all the parties agreed to pressurise the government to implement ILP.

Terming the statement of Sangma as contradictory to the discussion they had way back in 2013, Passah said that KHNAM would strongly press for its ILP demand in Khasi-Jaintia Hills as per the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation 1873.
