IMFL seized
The Excise staff of East Khasi Hills, Shillong conducted raids in restaurants and stalls in the town and its outskirts on the month of February where they detected 52 cases with a seizure of 2027.600 litres of i/d liquor and 741.946 litres IMFL. In this connection, 30 persons were arrested under Excise Act.
Weather warning
The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a weather warning whereby heavy rain and thunderstorm accompanied with squall is very likely to occur at isolated places over Meghalaya on Saturday.  
Trekking
The Youth Hostels Association of India, Meghalaya state branch will organise a one-day Local Trekking on April 28. The Association has urged all the trekking enthusiasts to participate. Route for trekking will commence from Laitryngew to Dainthlen Falls via Mawsawdong and Lyngksiar Falls. Interested persons are to report at Youth Hostel at 7 am. Registration forms will be available at the Hostel and the last date for submission of registration forms is April 21.
EMT Day
To commemorate EMT Day, GVK EMRI Meghalaya, involved the EMTs (Emergency Medical Technicians) in conducting a social responsibility activity in one of the Houses of Mother Theresa – Shanti Bhavan which is a shelter for the homeless, including those who are physically crippled, visually impaired and mentally ill. The GVK EMRI Team interacted with them and spent quality time with these inmates. Free medicines provided by Health department and snacks were distributed.
