WILLIAMNAGAR: The daughter of the contesting NCP candidate for Williamnagar election has been rushed to a hospital in Guwahati on Tuesday for urgent medical treatment due to a lingering health problem.
The sudden turn of events at the peak of campaign for the February 27th elections is a trying time for Krinilla Marak, NCP candidate and widow of slain party candidate Jonathone N Sangma.
Daughter of Krinilla Marak, 20-year-old Tulsa who was to appear in her college exams this week, had been unwell for quite sometime. Her health suddenly deteriorated compelling the mother to rush her to Guwahati for advanced medical treatment.
To compound the problem further, the family was unable to utilize the services of the 108 ambulance reportedly due to poor condition of the tyres.
The NCP has slammed the 108 service for it’s failure to do justice to its cause. NCP working president, Vijay Raj alleged that the GVK EMRI Ambulance was called to take the patient to Guwahati and accordingly, an Ambulance (ML01-7514) arrived but the officials of the ambulance refused to take the patient to Guwahati citing poor condition of the ambulance and it’s tyres.
“We condemn the GVK EMRI authorities for not maintaining their Ambulances properly and fooling the public by just showing their presence in Williamnagar but in reality, not serving. It seems that the GVK EMRI authorities are disposing their vehicle in the rural areas just to show their presence,” alleged the NCP.
It was ultimately left to an ambulance from the hospital to transfer the patient to a Guwahati hospital.
