Conrad govt resorts to v-conferencing to keep tab on development activities

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Government has come out with a new initiative of using technology to interact with Deputy Commissioners of all the District through video conferencing every month   to review different projects and get updates about developmental activities from each and every district

Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma along with other Cabinet Ministers and senior Government officials on Tuesday interacted with Deputy Commissioners of 10 districts except Ampati district, to discuss about implementation of various schemes and programmes.

Later, Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma said that the initiative would help in monitoring besides implementation of various programmes would improve.

“We will try to see that interaction takes place between the Cabinet and the DC’s at least once a month to improve delivery mechanism,” Sangma said even as he added that in Tuesday’s interaction, all the DCs were informed about dates of the proposed visit of the Cabinet Ministers to their respective Districts

The Cabinet on Tuesday also reviewed the situation and necessary relief and rehabilitation measures following a hailstone and cyclone in East Garo Hills with the Deputy Commissioner of the district through video conferencing
