NONGSTOIN: WKH KSU leader has issued a three-day deadline to the police to arrest those involved in the assault of Salestine Lyngdoh (45) of Mawsikar of Langpih.
Source informed that the incident happened last Saturday around 6:30 pm while Lyngdoh was on his way home from the market.
A group of men allegedly attacked him accusing him of being a thief.  He was then taken to Lawbah village and confined to a house owned by a non-tribal.
He was released on the next morning.
The locals in Langpih took him to Nongstoin Civil Hospital for treatment.
KSU West Khasi Hills District unit also went to the hospital to visit the victim.
KSU WKH leader John Fisher Nongsiang has issued stern action against the perpetrators if the police fail to arrest them.
Since they took the law into their own hands, we will be forced to take action against them,” Nongsiang said.
