Wine stores to buy back empty bottles to prevent litter

TURA: In order to prevent the litter of liquor bottles in public places, all wine stores operating under West Garo Hills District have been directed to buy back empty bottles from consumers at Rs 2 per Beer bottle and others at Re 1 per bottle.

 

The order which comes into effect from July 30 was issued by the West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Ram Singh keeping in view that liquor bottles are strewn over all public places and picnic spots including tourist destinations which is an eyesore to the general public.

 

Inspector of Excise in Tura, A Ch Momin has been nominated as Nodal Officer to coordinate with all the owners of wine stores. Wine store owners have also been directed to comply with the order and coordinate with the official through his mobile number- 9862609772.
