SHILLONG: Shillong Lajong defeated Malki Sports Club by 4-1 on Saturday in a Shillong Premier League encounter at the JN Stadium Shillong. Lajong broke the deadlock after Rakesh Pradhan made an overlapping run on the wing and found Sheen Sohktung in the centre of the box who slotted the ball into the net in the 15th minute.  In the 26th minute, Sheen Sohktung found his name in the score sheet again when he received a long ball in front of goal and beat the keeper to score his second goal. Phrangki Buam scored the third goal after making a run inside the box and meeting Rakesh Pradhan’s pass from the left for an easy tap in in the 44th minute. Makli Captain scored their only goal via a volley attempt from outside the box in the 70th minute. On the counter, Mahesh Singh placed the ball inside the box for Phrangki Buam who was one on one with the keeper and made no mistake turning the opportunity into a fourth goal for Lajong in the 90+1 minute.  Shillong Lajong will play their next match against Nangkiew Irat on August 29.
