SHILLONG: UDP leader Allantry F Dkhar on Wednesday refuted the allegation of PDF chairman P N Syiem that the Congress had rescued UDP in the just concluded Ranikor by-poll.
“UDP was led by its president during the campaign. We discount the statement of P N Syiem”, the UDP leader said.
Earlier, the president of the UDP Ranikor circle GG Bung Snaitang was candid about the understanding the party unit had with the state Congress leadership.
“We are not denying, the Congress has contributed so much to the victory of our candidate,” Snaitang had said.
However, the central leadership of the UDP has distanced from the personal views of Snaitang.
