Hek seeks report on baby’s death at Ganesh Das

SHILLONG: Health and Family Welfare Minister, A.L Hek has sought a detailed report from the department about an instance in the Government owned Ganesh Das Hospital where a woman lost her baby due to alleged negligence of the hospital staff.
Hek on Friday sought a detailed report about the incident from the Secretary of the Health Department, Pravin Bakshi and asked him to give the detailed report on Monday.
“Based on the report, we will take necessary action,” Hek said.
Earlier, 20-year-old woman, whose healthy baby was declared dead on August 30 after normal delivery, said that she was asked to sit on a wheelchair while the head of the baby was coming out.
