Seminar
The Department of Mathematics of St. Mary’s College will organise a National Seminar on Pure and Applied Mathematics at the college auditorium on Wednesday and Thursday. Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills District, P.S. Dkhar will be the chief guest.

General meeting
The annual general meeting of Srimanta Sankardev Cultural Centre will be held at D.K.D Memorial Hall from 2:30 pm on September 23. All the executive members of the MC and the other members are invited to attend the meeting.

Office bearers
In a meeting held at the residence of late Hoping Stone Lyngdoh on Monday, HSPDP elected new office bearers for the Shillong city with Banri K Wahlang as the president, P. Ryntathiang (vice president), Upstar Lyngdoh (secretary) along with other office bearers and members.

Unitarian Day
The Unitarian Church, Madan Laban, will celebrate the 131st Unitarian anniversary day with a worship service at 2 pm on Tuesday. Tourism Minister, Metbah Lyngdoh will attend the programme as the chief guest, Ricky Shullai, MDC of Laban constituency will be the special guest. The programme will also be attended by religious heads of different denominations of Shillong.

Shifting of venue
The nation-wide Pension Adalat scheduled on Wednesday will be held at Hall No. 2 of the Main Secretariat (Rilang Building) and not in the Conference Hall as mentioned earlier. This was informed by the Under Secretary, Finance (Pension Cell) Department.

Rice released
The DC (Supply), East Khasi Hills District has informed the public consumers that rice under NFSA, non-NFSA and whole-meal atta for the month of September and sugar for the month of October, November and December 2017 will be released through their respective fair price shops w.e.f. September 20. Rice under AAY will be issued at the scale of 35 kgs per card at Rs. 3 per kg, PHH 5 kgs per units at Rs. 3 per kg, TO 9.5 kgs per household at Rs. 11.70 to Rs. 12 per kg. Whole-meal atta will be issued at the scale of 8 kgs and 6 kgs for urban and rural areas respectively at Rs. 8 per kg. Sugar will be issued at a scale of 4 kgs per households for NFSA and Non-NFSA at Rs. 30 per kg.
