TURA: West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Ram Singh has appealed to all residents of Tura town and West Garo Hills as a whole, to keep their respective surroundings free from garbage and practice waste segregation of domestic wastes by maintaining two dustbins-one for collecting organic wastes like vegetable & fruit peels and paper debris and the other for inorganic insoluble waste materials like plastic packets, bottles etc.

In this regard, all Developments Committees are being requested to conduct cleaning drives regularly in keeping with the ongoing special campaign of ‘Swatchhta Hi Seva,’ in their respective localities. He also made a fervent appeal to the people not to throw garbage and litter the roads and public places like parks, recreational places and markets and emphasized on the need for practicing the principles of ‘Reduce’, ‘Reuse’, & ‘Recycle’.
