SHILLONG: The state has spent Rs 71,44,632 on perks and privileges of appointees to boards and corporations since March 6.
In his reply to an un-starred question raised by Congress MLA George Lyngdoh, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said perks and privileges accorded to the appointed members – like advisors, chairpersons, co-chairpersons and non-official members – “are laid down in Office Memorandums issued by the Finance (AF) Department from time to time”.
Some MLAs, former MLAs, politicians and academicians are included in the list of appointees.
