Metbah inspects Ri Bhoi tourist sites

SHILLONG: Tourism Minister Metbah Lyngdoh visited several popular sites in Ri Bhoi on Friday to review ongoing projects and facilities for tourists.
During his review visit to Orchid Water Sports Complex, Lyngdoh laid emphasis on cleanliness at resorts and saving water bodies.
He also visited Lake View Resort, the conventional centre in Umiam, Marngar Lake and the Shillong viewpoint at Ryndangbriew.
Nongpoh MLA Mayralborn Syiem and Jirang MLA Sosthenes Sohtun accompanied Lyngdoh to Marngar Lake, 5km from the town.
The minister was happy with the facilities provided by the board of management of the Marngar Eco Tourism Development Society that maintains the lake.
The minister was accompanied by Principal Secretary in-charge Tourism Rebecca Suchiang, Tourism Director Cyril Diengdoh, MD of MTDC R. Sohkhlet, tourism engineers and other senior officials of the department.
