MAWKYRWAT: The KSU Rangthong unit has extended its support to the Union’s Nongkynbah unit in demanding the inclusion of Nongkynbah Sub-Centre under Rangthong PHC for the benefits of the villagers who, otherwise have to travel around 50 km to reach Ranikor Community Health Centre (CHC) in South West Khasi Hills.
The KSU Nong-kynbah Unit had recently met the Director of Health Services, TS Nongkhlaw and demanded immediate inauguration of the sub-centre at Rangthong PHC.
The KSU Rangthong unit said that the sub-centre will cover three villages – Nongkynbah, Sarin and Nongpdengkynbah with a combined population of about 2000.
The Union said the villagers were facing problems like vaccination and registration of births or deaths since they had to travel to Ranikor CHC for all such purposes.
