AGARTALA: Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb today again wrote to union civil aviation minister Suresh Prabhu seeking immediate action to end up the flight travel crisis of Tripura and demanded to make amendment in aviation guidelines to help north-eastern states.
In a letter, Deb mentioned due to withdrawal of flights by private operators and inadequate fleet of Air India, people of Tripura have faced a serious problem in last few months but no corrective action has been taken by the ministry so far.He requested the central government to make amendment of the existing aviation guidelines to facilitate the operators to increase fleet in northeast. “Earlier, at least 10 percent fleet was manda-tory for the flight operators but in 2016 guidelines it reduced to only 6 percent and three more states were added with the northeast,” Deb stated.
