SHILLONG: A likely meeting of the People’s Democratic Front (PDF) next week will discuss two important issues — whether to name a common candidate for the Lok Sabha election and whether to be part of the Regional Democratic Alliance (RDA).
PDF president Ivanlumlang Marbaniang said on Friday the party will meet to decide if it wants to propose any name to the coordination committee of the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance.
The PDF will also consider joining the alliance formed by the UDP and the HSPDP. Earlier, UDP leaders Donkupar Roy and Jemino Mawthoh had called for having a united regional force in the state. Both UDP and HSPDP have proposed the names of common candidates.
