SHILLONG: Though the police had killed GNLA leader Sohan D Shira and effected the surrender of many others, there are some cadres of GNLA operating in Garo Hills and West Khasi Hills border.
During the special session on Tuesday, Home Minister James Sangma said “a few remnants of GNLA” are active in West Khasi Hills, South Garo Hills and East Garo Hills districts.
“These raise some concerns,” he added.
On November 26, a GNLA remnant identified as Ronjit G Momin surrendered before police in North Garo Hills.
Recently, a few cases of kidnappings were reported from Garo Hills.
